Wednesday, June 15th - Stephen Britt, Fast Forward Cycle Pedals

Post date: Jun 01, 2011 2:27:9 AM

Kingston University, Penrhyn Road Campus, Townhouse building (Room TH102)

Stephen Britt conceived the power assisting cycle pedals in 2008 when he was stuck in traffic during a 90 week roadworks on his commute. Playing with a Pedalite and reversing the idea gave him the inspiration for the product. Since then he has won £54,000 in awards, including Barclays - Take One Small Step, had 31,500 people view a video of the product and left work to develop and commercialise the product. UK patent was granted in January 2011, PCT is filed. The product needs pre-production development to relevant standards, marketing and production to launch. The prototype will be available to try on a cycle trainer after the talk.
