Product Description
The Oybike System comprises four components: a mobile phone for user communication, a homeport locking rental station, a bicycle with locking cable permanently attached, and an automated call centre with integrated computer system. Release codes are obtained via SMS and details are keyed into the homeport to release the bike. When the bike is returned the locking cable is engaged in the unit which provides a termination of hire code and finalises the billing process.
Markets/Application
An initial network of rental stations have been established in Hammersmith and Fulham. In recent months Oybike have extended the system to more London Boroughs and received expressions of interest for installation in major European cities including Paris, Lyon and Manchester.
